Equivalence was designed and built by Norman B. Mendoza, PhD to make rigorous cross-cultural adaptation of measurement instruments accessible to research teams of any size.

The platform grew out of a simple observation. The methods that protect a study’s validity, namely independent translation, blinded review, documented reconciliation, and a transparent audit trail, are straightforward to describe yet difficult to enforce with spreadsheets and email. Equivalence translates these guidelines into a guided workflow, so that sound method becomes the path of least resistance rather than an afterthought.

Every design decision, from database-level blinding to the signed audit certificate, reflects a commitment to research integrity and reproducibility.
